The Philippine Campaign Medal






The Philippine Campaign Medal was issued to officers and enlisted men of the Navy who served in the Navy in Philippine waters and were attached to one of the following vessels between the dates mentioned (Special Order No. 81 of 27 June 1908):

USS Helena FG9 19 February 1899 - 9 October 1900

[Historical note: This medal originally had the gold-and-red ribbon. The colors were changed in 1915 to correspond with the colors of the Army's Philippine Campaign Medal and in deference to the Spanish national colors, a nation with which we no longer were at war.]
