This duplicate image of the menu below was donated to us by Gary Baker, Son of a USS Helena (CA-75) sailor.
We decided to us it because of his dad's handwritten note in the lower right corner of the menu.
Gary writes:

My father, Gerald (Jerry) K. Baker, passed away in 2004 at the age of 74.

I don’t have a detailed accounting but I know this;
He joined the navy in or around 1948 and was on board the Helena for the bombardment of Korea circa 1950.

Amazingly, I think I may have found him on your Helena Panoramic picture of 1949.

He was enlisted, and worked in the engine room (as I recall) as a #2 throttle man – aka snipe – who would adjust the steam pressure to allow for a certain number of shaft rotations to match the designated ship’s order from the bridge on the Engine Order Telegraph.

I recall him speaking of Ports of Call in Japan (Yokosuka/Nagasaki) and Tsingtao, China.

I was incredibly pleased and spent a bit of time on the Helena (CA-75 page) with such an incredible collection of pictures and memories of this truly magnificent ship. My dad always seemed to remember happily about his time on the ship and, without saying so, seemed truly proud to have been a part of her.

Gary has also donated both sides of a post card his Father obtained in 1974.

This menu was won at an eBay auction and donated by Dave Brouchoud.
It measures 7 1/4 inches high by 5 1/4 inches wide

This menu is from the scrapbook of a Sailor who was at the Commissioning of ship USS Helena in Boston, Sep 4, 1945, then sailed with the ship on her Maiden, Shakedown and World Cruises over the next year and a half. Though the menu is undated, it has Wartime ceiling prices, plus had to be either right before they left for Shakedown Cruise to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba after the Sep 4 Commissioning ...... or shortly after their return to Boston before heading to England on Feb 12, 1946. Menu is 7" x 11" and one sheet. Cover shows "World Famous" Silver Dollar Bar logo, and address at 642 Washington Street, Boston, Mass. Opposite side has A La Carte Menu ... Fish, Steaks and Entries ... Sandwiches ... Dessert and Beverages. It has been twice folded horizontally, with a few other minor creases at upper corners.
