Roy tells us: One sunny afternoon I was near the fantail painting the BT winch when Helena, (directly outboard of us after having reversed course), fired a turret salvo that made me jump a foot. It amazed me that you could actually see the 8" projectiles in flight.
(Note the amateur artwork, all drawings in the book were by an ET named Lee Roan), DD cruisebooks were very limited and usually came in a soft cover edition.
