During one of our deployments to the Far East, I purchased a china dish ware set for my mother.
She asked that the set be decorative rather then funtional and she wanted a typical Japanese scene.
The set was service for twelve and included seven pieces per setting.
Her intention was to display the china in a cabinet.
After she passed away, the china became my property.
Today 11 settings are on display with one of our daughters and 1 setting is with a second daughter, also on display.
I do not recall that this china was ever used, only for display.
